This Sunday (5th May):

  • 10.30am – Teen Talk.
  • 11.30am – Morning Service – Rev. A. S. Smyth.  Sermon Topic – “Our Father who are in Heaven”.
  • 6.00pm – Prayer Meeting.
  • 6.30pm – Evening Service – Rev. A. S. Smyth – Sermon Text – 2nd Kings 5:19-27.
  • 7.45pm – Alive Youth.

This Week:

  • Wednesday – 10.00am – Parents & Toddlers.
  • Wednesday – 7.25pm – Prayer Meeting.
  • Wednesday – 8.00pm – Pre-Communion.
  • Thursday – 10.30am – Connect.
  • Saturday – 8.30am – Elders’ Prayer Meeting.

Prayer Points: 

Acts 2 v42 – They devoted themselves to fellowship

    • Thank God for the friendships you have in our church and prayerfully think of others you can deepen a relationship with.
    • Pray for those in our church family grieving the loss of a loved one, waiting for test results, undergoing treatment, feeling lonely or disheartened.

Acts 2v 42, 47 – “They devoted themselves to prayer ….and the Lord added to their number .”

    • Pray for Jemma as she initiates new events and activities for families and as she strives to encourage new families to come to our worship services.
    • Pray blessing on our local schools and all our teachers.  May they be salt and light to the children through their words and reactions.

Matthew 16v18 – I will build my church and the powers of hell will not conquer it. 

    • Pray for all who are in danger of any harm because of their Christian faith. That they will know God’s presence, pray for perseverance in their faith.

PCI prayer suggestions

1 For Myanmar – Pray for God’s protection and provision for the hundreds of families internally displaced and for those reaching out to them pastorally and with practical care.

2 Healthcare Chaplains – Give thanks for healthcare chaplains, for the support that they are to both patients and families during life’s difficulties. Pray for them as they navigate our changing culture and as they continue to be salt and light where they work.

3 Moderator – Pray for the Moderator as he continues his moderator’s duties in the coming week when he joins in the celebrations for Edengrove congregation’s 250th anniversary and also leads the worship on Sunday at Drogheda Presbyterian Church.  Pray for God’s blessing on the ministry and mission of both of these congregations and give thanks for their witness in their various communities.

There is a group who pray faithfully at home for all requests on any day at anytime needed. If you would appreciate prayer we are always available to pray.  All requests are in strictest confidence and can be kept anonymous.  For requests contact Stephanie

Dates for your Diary:

  • Tuesday, 14th May at 9.30am for 10.00am – Men’s Fellowship Breakfast.  All men welcome, let Wilson, Danny or John know if you would like to attend.
  • Tuesday, 14th May at 7.30pm – Kirk Session Meeting.
  • Sunday, 19th May at 11.30am – The GB and BB will hold a Service of Thanksgiving for their year’s work.  This will be followed by a Congregational Family Picnic – venue yet to be decided.  All members of the congregation are invited to come.  Bring your own picnic!

General Announcements: 

SUMMER OUTREACH – Any young person from our congregation going on any kind of summer outreach is encouraged to fill in a form saying where they are going and what they are going to do.  You can get these forms from the Rev Smyth. 

  • CHRISTIAN AID WEEK (12th – 18th May 2024) – Deliverers needed! The Christian Aid envelopes containing their written messages are now prepared and ready for delivering! We have “deliverers” for many districts of Carryduff but there are still some areas that are not covered. If you have an hour to spare in Christian Aid Week (12-18 May), please contact Danny Todd in the coming week and a suitable district can be arranged. Any help greatly appreciated.
